Project Summary

Context

Smallholder farmers in Liberia make up majority of the country 69% extremely poor populations. It’s hard for them to maximize their potential without improved seeds, proper training in climate resilient farming practices  and a distribution structure that remains ill-suited for accessing markets. 

In contribution to the solutions to these problems, VOSIEDA collaborated with the UN world Food program, Ministry of Agriculture and other partners, to: Conducted training of twenty (23) farmers organizations in Community Grain Bank establishment and Management in Gbarpolu, Grand Cape Mount, Grand Bassa, Nimba, Bomi and Lofa Counties, including the mobilization of participants and training in related activities.

Built Local Framers Organization’s Capacities in Natural Resources Management and Food Security.

Provided training to farmers in Organization Development and Governance.

Provided training to farmers in post-harvest management and maintenance.

Provided training to farmers organizations on managing local resources in a sustainable manner.
